The "Immediate Denture" protocol at Saanich Walk-In Denture Clinic ensures that no patient has to endure the social awkwardness or functional difficulty of being without teeth.

This service is a coordinated effort between our denturist, your dentist, and an oral surgeon. We fabricate your new Denture before your extractions, allowing for an immediate placement on the same day as tooth extractions. The benefit of this is to help maintain appearance and function during the healing period and reduce the emotional impact of tooth loss. This process serves a clinical purpose as well. The immediate denture acts as a "pressure bandage," helping to control post-surgical bleeding and protecting the extraction sites from food debris. The jawbone and gums undergo significant shrinking after extractions so we include a series of follow-up appointments. These visits involve temporary liners for 6–8 months to ensure that as your mouth changes, your denture remains stable and comfortable. After this, we will rebase your Denture and the process will be complete.
